I hope I am putting this in the right section. My husband and I got married in december last year. He had a great job, we bought a car and a truck, and got a few loans....he lost his job and is making half or less than half of what he used to make.. I also have two jobs right now, but am going back to school next month so i will only be able to keep one. It will soon be 2 months since we have made either car payment, and we can barely pay the other loan payments. My husband is going to see a bankruptcy lawyer on wednesday. Everything is in his name and I have read that he may have to be the only one to file. I am really just wanting to talk to other people going through the same thing.

Kate, what other debt do you have other than the auto loans? You mention that you got "a few loans" other than the vehicles; could you be more specific as to the types of loans they are and the amounts? What about credit cards? Also, how much do you owe on the vehicles, how much are they worth and do you want to keep them?
