    Capital One offers?

Since Capital One was one of my cc's that I had in my ch. 7 bk. Not too bad a debt (probably around $2,500)...in the scheme of things...

Is there any reason why I would want to get another card through them?

I know this subject has been broached before...i.e. credit cards through companies that you've screwed up with...but, quickly, couldn't they bring my old balance up & slip it back on me if I got another card with them?

Most companies that you file BK on WILL NOT allow you credit of any kind, not even a checking account.....

If by some chance they do....... be sure you read the fine print....BECAUSE some will off the credit to you if YOU AGREE to pay any past debts that you might owe them.....

Remember, they are not trying to collect on a past debt...... they are getting you to AGREE to pay it.....in order to do business with them again..... so they are not violating the laws....

    SO BEWARE............

Capital one will do that. Pre-bk I had a card with them it went into charge off status and they sent me a new card and said they would pay off the old balance. They did pay the balance but little did I know they put the old balance on the new card. Be careful. I wouldn't even deal with a company that I placed in my bk just because of some of the reasons Minny mentioned.

I still haven't been closed but like everyone, keep getting the "pre-approved" offers which I know are just a hook to get me in...

I really don't think it's even time to apply for a card yet? w/tax problems & such ....

I just got charged an "insurance" fee on my dillard's card for some reason...my mail got held up & I did pay my balance was $30.00 they've added $15 on for insurance and debits...I've got to call & find out...the corresponding annual % rate is 24% eeeks!!!

The interest rate is 0% if you don't carry a balance. Better than 24%.

hmmmm - in a 7 - I could see them coming back to haunt you - but a 13 where you paid 100% - wonder if anyone has had that experience...
