Who has gotten a car loan after a Ch.13?

We made our last payment in May, and each day I anxiously check the mail, hoping to see our discharge letter.

I also had our second child, a little boy in May - busy month! No ifs ands or buts about it, we need a bigger vehicle. I have a Civic and my husband has a single cab truck. It is a VERY tight squeeze in my car with two kids, but it works. Obviously there is no way my husband can fit both kids in his truck. Our plan is to get something bigger for me to drive and H will take my car. He has further to drive than me, so hopefully that will save a bit on gas.

Right now I feel like a sitting duck. I'm still on maternity leave, but go back the beginning of August. We will definitley have to have a bigger vehicle when I'm back to work.

If you were approved for a car loan after a 13, how many months out of the plan were you? We were in a 36 month plan.
I am interested in the Capital One loan, as many people seem to have good luck with them. I just wonder what our chances of being approved are right after a Ch.13 discharge.

Have you looked at your credit reports and cleaned up any inaccuracies there are? There is a lot of good information about making your credit report look as good as it can after bankruptcy.
Also, have you opened any new credit cards? There is information here about how that helps boost a post-bankruptcy score, even if it's a secured card that reports monthly.
I am in the process of trying to get another car IN a 13...we'll see, I am approved, according to the car guy, but haven't seen the bank name, the interest rate or anything like that. I might just end up driving my beater 21 year old Volvo for another year.
    :-)
