    Auto Loans for Private Purchase

I was wondering if anyone knows if it is even possible to get an auto loan right after BK7 for a purchase from an individual? DW and I are not reaffirming our cars, and I am pretty sure I want to surrender her car whether or not they want it. It is a 2004 Pacifica that needs the A/C fixed, the check engine light is on, the tire pressure monitoring light is on, the in dash DVD player is broken and it just hit 70,000 miles. Needless to say, the car has a few VERY expensive issues and we are also a few thousand upside down on it. I think it would be in our best interest to dump the thing and get something with fewer miles on it. We could also lower our payment and length of contract. So, does anyone know if it is possible to get a loan as stated above or will we have to go to the large dealers and deal with sales people?

If you know that individual and are in a "friendly" relationship with him/her, you might try to make a written contract with the individual detailing payment terms. But make sure that your payments, at least in the beginning, are in cash in order to avoid any possible audit related questions - if you get audited.

Roadloans will do this. But be prepared to spend about 2-3 weeks on the buying process. It's a bunch of crap. And if I had not known the car and owner, I would have told Roadloans to shove it. Plus they tout that you can pay online. Yeah, right with an additional charge of 11.00.

From what I have read, it seems like Roadloans is not the way to go...unfortunately, it may be the only way to go. DW and I have decided that we will gvie her car back once the BK is discharged and our credit scores are back up a little. .:Fingers Crossed:.
