Mortgage jumped $700+, can no longer afford

Am in Chapter 13 since last July, have no clue what to do. Contacted CitiMortgage and CitiFinancial to see if they would combine everything before I am forced to go into a possible Chapter 7. Who makes that call anyway?

First thing to do - CALL YOUR LAWYER! if you still show disposable income on a reworked Means Test/Schedules, he/she can file an amended Ch 13 plan that will reduce your payments.

If the reworked Means Test/Schedules no longer show disposable income, then your lawyer can convert your case to Ch 7. Work with your lawyer to sort out whether it's in your best interests to keep your home with its ARM if you file Ch 7.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

    06/01/06 - Filed Ch 13
    06/28/06 - 341 Meeting
    07/18/06 - Confirmation Hearing - not confirmed, 3 objections
10/05/06 - Hearing to resolve 2 trustee objections
01/24/07 - Judge dismisses mortgage company objection
    09/27/07 - Confirmed at last!
06/10/11 - Trustee confirms all payments made
    08/10/11 - DISCHARGED !

    10/02/11 - CASE CLOSED
Countdown: 60 months paid, 0 months to go

I'm just curious how your mortgage jumped $700+ dollars. It sounds like you have a first and second mortgage...? Are they both ARM loans? What is your current interest rate and how big are the loans?
