Discharged debts on a new card?

Orchard Bank was one of my creditiors but they approved me for a CC. I thought I heard somewhere that some banks can actually tag on old debts to a new card even if the old debt was discharged through BK.

Is this true or a myth? Has anyone actually have this happen to them? With Orchard?

    Thanks!

    It's more myth than fact.

This circumstance can arise when you actually bank at the institution who underwrites the credit card...typically small credit unions and their cross-collateralization of assets and debt. Still, it is exceedingly rare and is usually due to a mistake than a deliberate attempt to revive a discharged debt.
