My name not on Mortgage currently...

I filed in Aug of 2006. We moved and bought a house due to my job change, and the mortgage is in my wife's name only, as a no-doc loan. She did not file, as the business that went under was mine before we were married.

Question: Would it make sense to try and get my name on the mortgage to help boost my credit score? Even though my CC's have limits of 2500-4000 I am being dinged because of "low limits" We may try to re-finance after my 2 year bk anniversary next year depending on what the market does, but in the meantime, I would like to get credit for paying the mortgage every month, on time.

    Any thoughts?

Your lender probably does not want anything to do with you with a BK.
If you want to boost credit records and FICO score get one or two secured cc and pay balance off each month.
First Bank in Omaha charges $20 per year + your saving account deposit of at least $500 for this.
They report monthly. In six months to one year your will have offers from other cc without a deposit.

      Hey Brendon
Unfortunately you cannot just go on the mortgage. You would have to refinance with both of you applying and both of you going through underwriting for approval.
      Hope that helps.

Thanks B12, that was my question. Can I just "add my name" to the mortgage... We will refinance next year and take care of it. Our interest rate is 7.125% so it's not ridiculous.
