    Student loans after bk

Anyone have any experience with this?
I just found out that I FINALLY got accepted into the nursing program here, passed my entrance exams today, and am going to be filing for financial aid within the next week.
BUSY running my own credit repair services! Sorry I don't stop in so often any more!

Congrats, Tin!!! Always wonderful to welcome another nurse to the group!

Check out this information from FinAid about student loans after bankruptcy - http://www.finaid.org/questions/bankruptcy.phtml

Don't forget to check the professional nursing organizations for special interest loans and other state and local sources for school loans too.

Good luck - hope you find all the dollars you need for school!
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

I had no problem getting Stafford loans during/after my Ch. 7 BK. It may be a problem getting private loans, but federal loans are guaranteed (unless you've previously defaulted) and they don't check your credit score.

Congrats and good luck in school!
Filed Ch. 7 Pro Se: 12/11/08
      341 Meeting: 1/7/09
Trustee's Report of No Distribution: 1/9/09
      Discharged: 3/10/09

Tin Roof, who did you get the private loan through? I am looking at going back to school but I don't think I can qualify with my status (dependent) for much $$ from stafford loans.

          thanks,

            Student Loan Xpress.
I could have gone through Sallie Mae, but the principal of that lender, steered me to another one!
