I recently applied for and was approved for an Apple iTunes Visa, 250.00 limit, and a Target red card (no visa, just for use in store) Before getting these cards, I applied for a Citi card...when I called up for my response, the girl told me because I had a bankruptcy within 7 years I was automatically declined...is this true? Is Citi a hard card to get? Anyone have any luck with reconsiderations?

The big credit card companies keep a huge database of their own that is shared among them. One of the pieces of data they keep is who filed bankruptcy. It may be off our credit reports, but it's still in the shared database.Originally posted by skyblue View PostBankruptcy record should be removed after 10 years and..how does the big one suppose to know that one ever filed a bankrupt? well i got my discharge on October 22 and i have already received by mail like 5 offers for credit cards one of them being Capital one which i said NO NO never again with this fellows. I was able to open a bank account with Wachovia because Bank of America rejected me. Wachovia gave me a visa Check Card which righ now is my main card. Regarding checks i have made a couple and i have had no problem. I went with my sister to a toyota dealership and it is incredible i could get a new Toyota they are willing to finance me actually the salesman they said people that already had a bankruptcy are less of a risk so they get loans not at the best rates but very competitive. So far my experience has been so on positive but regarding Bank Of America i guess they did not want my money??????

Yup.
It's called "Lexis Nexis" and I have never seen a more inaccurate report of complete trash in my entire life. It's terrible.BUSY running my own credit repair services! Sorry I don't stop in so often any more!

Ive found Toyota to be quite Bk friendly as long as you have a good, steady income coming in and no other debt. Despite my non-reaffirmation they have still taken my payments to the same address and even reported them past the 341 up to date!!!
Ive had five Capital One pre approved offers within a few weeks of discharge. I'd bet if I sent them in it would be no go though. I'm sure BOA will never offer me credit again. Or Chase and Discover. Once BK'd, Discover is a no go so dont even bother.
WAMch7 8/07 CLOSED: 11/07 Rebuilding and saving.
WAMU unsecured $2,000 Capital One unsecured $500
