I filed Chapter 7 in january 2005 and got my discharge in may 2005. I did not sign a reaffirmation agreement with my mortgage company or my car loan company but have kept making my payments on time and am still paying on time. My question is: how will those payments get reported on my credit report? And if they do get reported, will they help me rebuild my credit score? Thanks for any advice you can provide.

Don't know how they should be reporting
All i can tell you is that at the time I filed most of the credit cards stopped reporting anything.
After discharge most are reporting discharged in BK
Car loan is still showing as balanced owed and late.
I reafirmed two accouts and they show dischared in bk.
I don't know for fact but i think when you file bk the crediter puts you in a don't spend much time on file. Things eather don't get reported or are very slow to get reported if at all.

When we filed ch.7 we were going to reaffirm both car loans - both to Ford Credit. We signed the reaffirmation agreements but our attorney did not send them to Ford. After discharge, I called Ford to see why our monthly bills have not started back up. They told be they never received our reaff. agreements and will not send a bill. I called the attorney and they found our agreements, I told them to just send one of them. Ford would not accept it because we were already discharged. They said we could still make our payments but they would not be reported to the credit bureaus, the credit report would continue to show "included in bankruptcy". I was furious because I wanted my good and on time payments reported. So we went to our Credit Union and were approved for two loans. We returned one car to Ford because we were way upside down on the loan. We bought another car with one loan and refinanced the other Ford loan on the car we kept. So Ford lost on one car but did get their money on the other. But now I have 2 loans that are reporting for great credit to the bureaus. Two years later, we now have credit scores over 700 and are closing on our new house in 2 weeks.
