I would think your apr might end up being higher but they are a good rebuilding card with limited fees.

no fee would be better, but $39 is better than most cards coming out of bk

I have Hsbc with no annual charge...I think my rate is 15.5% fixed. I have had great experience in the year I've had the card. Started with 2K limit and they now raised it to 4K...

        Wait for a better offer!

Call and ask for a no fee account. I recieved an application from them during BK Chapter 7 and responded. I recieved a card with a $5000 line of credit. The annual interest rate does not matter, becasue you are again commiting finincial suscide if you do not pay your CC bill in full monthly.
Do do apply for the account over the phone or Innernet because BK will reduce your chances. Fill out the application and a real person will review your full credit report.
          regards,

I filed/discharged in 2004. In January of 2007, one year ago, HSBC approved me for one of their Mastercards with a limit of $3000/no annual fee/19.99 % interest. In April of last year they upped my limit to $4500, but also increased the interst rate to 21.99. HSBC's "children", Orchard and Household are not as "nice". They do have annual fees and start you out with limits between $300 and $500, and are real slow in increasing limits. Received my Orchard MC in early 2005 with a limit of $400. In early 2006 they increased the limit to $500. In early 2007 to $1000, and now, early 2008, to $1200. My wife's Household Mastercard started with a limit of $400 - in 2005, and now is only up to $700.
            HSBC's "children" are brats.

I've had an Orchard Bank card with them. I've tried getting the HSBC three times, they keep offering me the secured.
