So thank goodness for this forum about how to work on your credit report because I would have no idea on how to get started or anything. So thank you to those who put it together!
Our Chapter 7 was discharged on Feb. 6th and so I decided to go ahead and print our reports out. I have been monitoring them on Truecredit for a long time now and everything had pretty much been reporting right but now I have a what to do about this question for you?
We had a Best Buy credit card years ago....I mean back in the 90's and we paid it off in 1999 or 2000 somewhere around there. Well all of sudden this has shown up on our credit reports as being open and showing that the last date reported on was like in Jan or Feb of 2008. Well when you click on it and look at it, they are saying it was included in Chapter 7 bankruptcy and ummmmm this card was NEVER in Chapter 7 it was paid off a long time ago and closed after it was paid off. We don't have another one or never got another one.
So how do I handle this? I mean that is false reporting? Is there some legal action that needs to be taken?
