    Question about Student loans

I know that student loans are not dischargable. I called Sallie Mae before discharge and they refused to speak to me. So I'm checking my credit report and I'm confused. I'm going to call Sallie Mae tomorrow first thing, but I wanted to know if anyone else's credit reports showed this:

Switched back to No Asset - Here we go!! Discharged: 3.12.08

Sallie Mae reported to all 3 CR's as IIB for me. I disputed all of them. Experian and Equifax fixed everything properly, but I had problems with TransUnion. The first time I disputed, they treated the account like it was actually included in my bankruptcy by removing the correct balance and replacing it with $0. They also removed my 41 month good payment history which really ticked me off. In the end I had to send a letter to Sallie Mae and gently reminded them that they had to report correctly. Within 30 days it was fixed, except my 41 month good payment history was never reinstated on my TransUnion report. Have I mentioned I hate TransUnion?

Sallie Mae won't talk to you before you are discharged. Your account may not even be with them anymore and may be with another lender. They may be considered in default. Mine were. And all of them said "Included in Bankruptcy."

I detailed my Sallie Mae experience here:

Once I got the situation taken care of with Sallie Mae, I'm told that they will start reporting correctly within 30 days. I am no longer in default.

Technically, all debt incurred before your bankruptcy is part of your bankruptcy estate and is included in the bankruptcy. Even student loans since it is debt. However, it's non-dischargeable debt.

        I'm curious.

Since I have an account with Sallie Mae and filed BK 2 years ago with a discharge. After looking at my credit reports on Experian, I noticed that several of my Sallie Mae accounts had my social security number as account #'s instead of the actual account numbers.

While the other several Sallie Mae listings had the proper account numbers from the statements.

Is this legal? Does Sallie Mae do this on purpose or do I have to get Experian to wipe out those listings with my SS numbers on them? Please PM me back privately.

        Thanks.
