    Costco credit report ?

Hello I had a question regarding Costco's credit service. My lawyer advised me to pull my credit reports after my case is closed and start disputing any negative incorrect items. He suggested I order a copy from each of the three agencies and it would cost about $8 bucks a piece for a total of $24. he said I should do this every three months until everything was clean. My question is does the service Costco provides of $7.49 a month provide the same informtion or is it a consolidated report? Also I belive the Costco report includes credit scores but these would not be you're true FICO score would they?
    Thanks

Try doing a forum search on Costco and select the Show Posts option - I got three pages of results, some of which discuss Costco credit scores.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

Costco uses a company called Identity Guard for their credit monitoring. By signing up thru Costo's website, its just a little cheaper. Identity Guard gives you reports from all 3 credit bureaus and your scores. These are FAKO scores, and not FICO scores. You can get a new report and scores every 30 days. If anytime during that month any of your accounts are updated/changed/opened/closed...etc...they will send you an email alert. I have had Identity Guard for about 6 months and I like it.

Another company, TrueCredit costs $14.95 a month, but you can get a new credit report and scores whenever you want...unlimited...so essentially you could pull a new credit report every day if you wanted to.

Wait a minute, let's start over.

Have you pulled your 3 credit reports for free? Go to annualcreditreport.com and pull all 3. If you did not know, you are entitled to one for each credit reporting agency every 12 months.

Once you get them, look over them carefully and dispute anything that is not 100% correct. You can dispute online if you wish, and this might not be a bad idea for the first round of disputes....

Do this and let us know your results. The credit monitoring service is ok, but you need to do the other work first.

I had pulled a free copy before filling BK as I was planning on using a company to help me get out of debt and realized there was no way that could work. Thanks everyone for the advice.
