Justice Federal Credit Union Turned me Down

I have been hearing great things about this CU. And trying to join has been a headache. I finally decided to apply for a loan. And they turned me down.

I filed Chapter 7 in September of 2005. I haven't been late on a single payment in trying to restore my credit history.

I have taken all the steps to rebuild my credit and cleaning up 'baddies' on the report and I still get no love from the Credit Unions. I got turned down.

I thought these places were easy for obtaining loans and credit cards, but I'm being turned down left and right from these places.

Only thing that I can say is, the folks that are getting approved and have filed bankruptcies must have raised their scores tremendously high in a short period of time.

But I'm not having any luck with trying to get a loan.

Did you call and talk to someone. They maybe able to give you some insight to what you need to do to get approved. I would start with maybe a secured loan or credit card. JFCU is a great credit union and the only place that would give me a checking account. I am in the process of filing BK so I don't have any credit products yet. Go head and call and find out why you were declined.

Thank you so much for that encouraging reply. I did call and I spoke with a representative. She wouldn't go into detail of the decline. She said that a letter would be sent explaining their decision. But I know why. My credit scores aren't as high as everyones that are getting approved. I just broke the 600 barrier this month.

Best of luck to you and completing your bankruptcy.

If you are applying a lot and getting turned down, I would stop applying for awhile. Every time you apply that cost points and puts an inquiry on your credit report. Companies don't like seeing you applying for a lot of things.
