    denied, denied, denied

I'm so sick of being denied...I'm new here...just joined ...had to find a place to vent after today...i went to the furniture store...where i have previously bought furniture from ...my old account was up to date...never late....they said they had to run my credit since its been over a year...i said sure, go ahead...they said they couldn't ...i have a baby on the way ...and hearing that...just made me depressed...i even cried a lil...okay a lot...lol....

I filed back in June ...and recieved my discharge letter last week...I talked to my mother (also had a bk yearssss ago) she said you can't expect to get a discharge letter and then go out and by furniture...

its just so depressing...all of a sudden you go from okay how much do i pay a month to asking is there anyway possible i can put any money down so you'll give me some furniture..it just sucks...i guess it has to be bad before it gets better

Sound insight from your mom. Honestly, what did you expect?

But you are on your way, keep practicing good financial habits, and you will have all the credit you will ever need.

Why not enjoy being able to pay yourself for once, instead of paying creditors? Just save, save, and save for the first three to four years after BK! You'll be glad you did. Most importantly STOP and do not apply for credit. If you have credit in the past, creditors will come to you and offer you credit. When this happens, you simply want to research the creditor offering credit to determine whether or not they are a creditor you want to deal with. Go to the thread here, that's dedicated to rebuilding credit for more insight.

      Good Luck!

Why would you want to go into debt again after finally being free? Not having any debt at all is the absolute best thing for you and your child. If you need baby furniture, look for a used furniture shop. Those aren't items that you'll need forever, and there should be some great pre-owned furniture shops for kids around. Even better is if you can find a friend or co-worker who recently had a baby who doesn't need what they have.

Your child wants and needs your love, health, and financially stability. He or she won't give a rats behind whether or not the bed is brand spanking new. A smiling, relaxed mom is by far better.

My baby bed was the "bottom drawer on a dresser" - did I know that ? - not till I was grown........
          I thought that was "neat"..................
Everyone would love to have nice "new things" for their new babies..............but sometimes life doesn't allow that.
Besides, babies don't know, grow too fast, and half the stuff you buy for them, they never get to use.
Take some of that hard earned money and start them a college fund - that will go further in life for them.....
          By the way - congradulations............
And get started on "rebuilding your credit" - this forum can help you with that also.
