TripleAlert service = Experian scumbag misleading advertising

Pa, my hubby and I have had Experian monitoring for almost two years with most of that time being free as a perk from PayPal. We knew at the bat that it did not provide access to your credit reports and we were not interested in viewing our credit reports all the time. You see about two years ago I found out my SS number was given in error by the SS Dept. to someone in the State of TN. That occurred, at that time, 14 years prior. WHen I found it out via a call to the IRS when we did not receive a refund in the mail, the IRS told me my date of birth did not match what they had on file for me. Prior to that I had no indication of a problem. The SS Dept., when I called them, had me come in and they treated it at first as identity theft and advised me to put fraud alerts on my credit reports and to monitor our reports. Just prior to that I had obtained all 3 credit reports and there was nothing on them as to fraud. So we just obtained the Triple Monitoring at that time from Experian as we did not need credit reports.
We hvae been satisifed with it since we just obtain our 3 credit reporits once a year and don't need a more expensive service. When there is an inquiry or change to any of the 3 reports, we can an email and also a cell phone text message that there were changes to our reports; you can then go online and they will tell you what the action was. But you cannot access your credit report. That we knew when we signed up.
I don't think it is a scam or a rip off - $4.95 per month is too low for any service to provide you access to your credit reports and scores. So while I understand you are upset as to signing on with them, there is really no problem with their Triple Monitoring Service._________________________________________
