    dealing with CRA's update

Well just got off the phone with transunion and some of my creditors, and I am getting conflicting info when i informed the creditors that they were discharged in my chapter 7 and that that is what they should have reported to the CRA's they say "oh you have togive it at least 90 days to update". called transunion and disputed everything, cause nothing is reported right, need some advice from any of you, this is really annoying, what do I do next

Not a direct reply to you question.... But...
It's 2008 and the AGE of ELECTRONIC RECORD KEEPING, there is absolutely zero reasons it should take 90 days to update.
Total BS if you ask me.

Coming off a fresh Ch. 7 discharge, I signed up for freecreditreport.com which is a service from Experian. Figured I'd like to stay on top of things for several months post-bk, so this is a month-to-month membership. Experian had most accounts reflecting IIBK correct, but there were some that were not correct. I used their online dispute service and everything has been corrected within 1 week. My credit score with Experian jumped from 610 to 660 after getting the errors corrected.

So, OneDay is correct here -- we do live in the day of electronic record keeping and updating. Not sure the other CRA's are as fast, but at least my Experian report is correct now. I will submit the same requests to TransUnion and Equifax via certified mail over the next few days.

      Good luck to you,

It can take 90 days or longer if you are disputing items and have to submit proof (i.e., copy of creditor matrix from your filing or a copy of your discharge). We are two years past discharge and still have issues as to information changing after being corrected previously on our reports. It is very common so patience is the key word when trying to clean up reports after filing bankruptcy. Some items are fixed quickly, some can take many months.

Remember also, not only is it to read IIB, but to have a zero balance. That is a common error - the creditor reports the IIB but leaves the balance!

                Good news

Experian deleted 8 accounts, and updated 4 others to read discharged in bankruptcy but they still say charged off boo-hoo, are they supposed to say that ?? also when does my credit score reflect the changes???

If the account was charged off PRIOR to your bk filing then it can report the charge off.
