My meeting was short and sweet. It seems they have until March 3/09 to contest? My atty said I should have my discharge by the end of March. If the trustee did not mention any tax returns does that mean it is mine?? I need to move, so I am sure the deposits will be high. I don't think I can rest until I see the discharge papers,,,,,,,,,,

Hi Grider: you need to discuss the tax refund, I think you meant, with your attorney. Right now everything you own, and any potential windfall such as a tax refund, belongs to you BK estate.

Now actually that tax refund is your own money, as you overpaid with your witholding tax, and that is how you get a 'refund'. But this can digress into a whole other topic about income taxes, and how the IRS is playing shell games with your money, and I don't think that will help with your immediate question. So you really need to press your attorney for that information.
