    Post - BK questions

    Hey--

I have a question. I'm 11 months post BK an am wondering what my credit score is. I'm going to check later this month.

I have 1 credit card- Limit $300.00. I have not used it for about six months, but I get charged a monthly service- which is paid in full everymonth.

    My questions:

    1. How many credit cards do you have?
    2. Do you pay cash for everything?
    3. Have you put yourself on a budget since filing or post BK?

    1. None. No desire to have any either
    2. Yes. Cash is king. Why would you want to do it any other way?
    3. Yes. That budget is what makes numbers 1 and 2 possible

I am really not wondering what my credit score is at all. It is wonderful to not get a credit card statement every month. That is what a real fresh start and freedom is all about!
Filed 8/08 - Discharged 11/08! Not tracking FICO.
    Pre-Bankruptcy Net Worth: -$72,000... Today's net worth: $142,000.
If your FICO score just went higher than your net worth, and you are happy about this, you might have a financial problem!

I agree. I have no desire to get anymore credit cards. I think one is enough, BUT it needs to be for emergencies only. My DH has only 1 credit card.

I never want to be in the same situation ever again. I pay cash for everything or use my debit card. DH has been doing this for years and it shows he got perfect credit.

We sat down and set up a budget and we follow it. I give myself $150.00 per month to spend however I want. Once its gone its gone until the next month.

Normally I would not care about my credit score, but we are going to try and get approved for a home loan in the next year or two.

If you want your credit to improve you need more than 1 credit card with a $300 credit limit.
