Got a letter today from Amex, who monitors changes in my credit report (for a monthly fee). I find it interesting that my report is reflecting my BK, but Amex has my account open still, because I'm still being billed for this service! My question: What does the IIB mean? I've been reading about this. I also noticed that one creditor reported Closed By Credit Grantor, which I've been told is not good. I am waiting for Discharge on 1/23/06. On another note, I am very scared for thousands of people in our country who are facing increased credit card payments this month, in addition to the natural gas and gasoline gouging we saw this year. I have never advocated bankruptcy, but never felt inclined to judge friends who had to. I feel very blessed in light of what I'm seeing around me. I walked through a door that does not exist any longer. Save save save, my friends. Pay it off, and save. I'm telling everyone I know to do this!

IIB does mean Included in Bankruptcy.
Regarding the closed by credit grantor, is that true? If it is not, dispute it. MBNA pulled that one me a month after I filed for BK. I disputed it and got it fix. Another credit grantor (a credit union) had me showing late the entire time while I was waiting discharge. I disputed that too and got it fix.
I don't know how much you are paying for using AMEX credit monitoring, I just pull my credit reports often. I did read though that a credit monitoring service is a good idea after bankruptcy. Like everything, I research deeply before I decide...that bugs my wife! ;)
