I don't think there is anything wrong with getting things deleted----I disputed some statuses and dates just trying to get them updated not deleted--but EX seems to like to delete rather than correct in my case
But I guess what I meant to ask was did you have any problems getting all of the creditors to report the IIB with 0 balance?

if you want to move directly to getting the accounts reported as IIB and $0 Balance then just send then a copy of your BK petition showing those accounts.
the reason it is not a recommended route at first is because you might be able to complain those accounts right off your records by stating they ae not mine because of such and such.
if you want to take the direct approach and be done with it then send then your bk.Im not an attorney or a trustee. You cant trust me either though!

ok....I'm confused....Trans Union has deleted almost every account we mentioned was discharged in BK....So...why would this be a bad thing??
99% of the accounts are collection accounts for medical bills not revolving accounts. So there is NO payment history, to earase. So in this case it is better to have them all removed, then it's like starting over, rather than having all the accounts included in BK. right?
So which is better?

no one ever knows. you tell us. did the score go up or down?
i would say that since its not a payment history type of account then its much better to remove them.
also, anytime you can remove negative history such as charge offs its always better that it be removed then have it listes as IIB $O balance.
if its an very old account with a few behind payments then that would be better to keep maybe even with IIB $0. but its hard to say.
the only other problem will come in if you erase every account that you have. then you have no credit history at all. but whos to say thats beter then negative history. i would say cleaner the better.
imo erase is much better given you are rebuilding your credit with new cards little by little.Last edited by bkfiler; 01-22-2006, 02:14 PM.Im not an attorney or a trustee. You cant trust me either though!

I'm getting all the CA's deleted that I possibly can. But there are a few accounts such as CRAP1 who most likely will not get deleted--two different accounts with them--one shows 0 balance and IIB--the other one shows as still open and past due a large amount.
On myFICO besides the history of recent public record(gee, I wonder what that could be????
) LOL It says the past due amounts equal to that the crap1 account is lowering my score. They also list it as a charge off-but with balance and past due amount. If it cannot get deleted , that is one I would rather be IIB with 0 balance.

I think this will make it easier to rebuild. Even if you deleted an account with old payment/positive history, the most recent 2 years are the strongest influence. So if in those 2 years it had lates, that is going to do more harm than the OLD good history.
Your reports are supposed to report 100% accurate info. If something is reporting incorrectly, it should be deleted...

pinkMost of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

In the short term, its better to have some credit history. In the long term, its much better to have a clean slate and you are lucky for that.Originally posted by pink_amuletok....I'm confused....Trans Union has deleted almost every account we mentioned was discharged in BK....So...why would this be a bad thing??

About the car purchase
Hi, I was wondering if you have contacted your insurance company about getting new rates for the new vehicle? I am curious if I had to get a new car if my insurance rates would "skyrocket" after they pull my credit? Any information on your experience would be greatly appreciated.
