    Late Payments

I need some clarification. I filed for Chapter 7 BK on September 21, 2005. At that point, I was never 30 days late on any of my credit accounts. Around Sept 30th is when basically all my accounts would show as 30 days late. I just pulled my credit report and I have some creditors saying that I'm 30 days late and others say 60. I have one that says 0 days late. I thought that the creditors weren't allowed to report late payments if I filed BK before I actually hit the 30 day late mark. Is this true? Or is it that they are not allowed to report late payments after they actually received a notice? I know most of them probably wouldn't have received the BK notice by the time I hit 30 days late. Is this something I can dispute to have those late marks taken off my credit report? I know my credit took a big hit by filing BK, but I'd like to get my score as high as possible and I know those late marks on the report will hurt. Since I was never 30 days late on any payments, I'm hoping I can disupte the late marks and get them taken off. Thanks in advance for your help.

true. they can only report the account as it was at the time of filing.

if all payments were made on time at the exacat date of filing then they cannot report lates, chargoffs, etc.

after that they can only report IIB and $0 balance.

also, '0 Days Late' is tricky. if it wasnt there before then its a nasty trick to show a negative word i guess. not sure it will matter much in the scheme of things.

You are correct-that doesn't mean that the creditors do it right all the time! I don't know if there is a rule that they have to update when you file, or if they technically can wait until you are discharged. In the end, it shouldn't be too hard to get that fixed thoguh.
Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.
