    Getting Started

am in the process now of cleaning up my credit report after our Ch7 discharge in December.

I disputed an account from VyStar Credit Union - they had it marked as 30 days late, 60 days late, and still had a balance due as of November. I never had late payments and in fact kept making payments until our case was filed September 1, 2005.

    The verification came back as
Status: "Discharged through Bankruptcy Chapter 7 / Account Charged Off"
Account History: Charge off as of Nov 05, 30 days as of Oct 2005, Debt incuded in bankruptcy on Jan 31, 2006
Balance history shows a balance reported for Sept, Oct, and Nov.

What do I do from here? Since they verified and still didn't get the information correct can I make them remove it from my report? Do I dispute with the CRA or with VyStar?

FYI this is just the Experian report. I am waiting still to receive Equifax and TU.

Do both. Call vystar and remind them the debt is uncollectable, therefore there is no balance. Also dispute with credit bureau. Over and over until fixed

Dispute w/ EX, getting specific and spelling it out for them if you have to. They probably marked it IIB 01/06 because that was the month they updated the account. Its laziness...
Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.
