How should old creditors appear on CR's?

After disputing everything online on my experian report, one creditor is still reporting it as a charge off. Is this the correct way for them to report?

Status: Discharged through Bankruptcy Chapter 7/Account charged off.

As long as it contains the "discharged in banktrupcy" on there they are reporting correctly...... the chargeoff is really unimportant at this stage....
You can have the "chargeoff" removed if you want.

Sorry to hi-jack this thread but I have a similair situation...I have the 3 credit report option thru truecredit and in the status of my accounts from my bankrupcty it says "Collection/Chargeoff", but in the remarks some say "Debt included in or discharged through Bankruptcy Chapter 7,11, or 12." Is this the way it should be reported? The date my BK was reported was 7/21/2004 and the date for the chargeoff on the accounts is 8/24/2004. Should the status be chargeoff or is there another status for bankruptcy?

      Thanks,
      Kyle.

Since the collection/chargeoff date of 8/24/04 is AFTER you filed bankruptcy........then notify the creditor that they are reporting incorrectly and that they are required by law to correct your credit report.....
If they do not comply, register a complaint with the credit bureau and tell them to get it fixed or remove it from you credit report. You may have to do this in writing of course, certified letters.

        Keep me posted,
