Am trying to dispute one of two B of A credits on my Experian report. The other B of A credit is reporting correctly. TransUnion and Equifax are reporting correctly as well. I filed BK on June 05 and was discharged on Dec. 05. The status shows on this particular B of A credit is discharged throughd BK Ch 7/Account charged off. I never missed a payment until I filed BK in June 05 when the automatic stay began. Account history states 30 days late as of Nov. 05/Debt included in Ch 7 on March 15, 06. How can I be 30 days late as of Nov. 05 when I filed BK in June 05? I tried to explain with Experian the logic, but she said I would need to contact B of A directly because this is what B of A is reporting to them. If this is the case, what is the best possible way to correct this issue with B of A? Any suggestions on the most effective steps to take because am getting tired of having to go back and forth with Experian on this. Same thing with MBNA. Reporting that am 30 days late as of July 05. I appreciate any and all the help given.

I just contacted BoA last week for something like that too! I called them directly and talked to their BK dept. She could see their error and submitted to have it corrected. According to her I'm to get a letter in the mail here soon stating it's reported wrong and they are correcting it. We'll see if the letter shows up.Yo ho, Yo ho, a pirates life for me

I don't understand why you have to go back and forth with Experian. It seems to me if you write them a letter disputing the reporting, they, Experian, are supposed to investigate if the claim if accurate or not. The Creditor has 30 days to respond. If they don't, then Experian is supposed to change the report.
I love (hate) the run around BK folk have to go thru to get their Credit Reports straightened out. Sometimes it's unreal!!Filed Ch 7 - 09/06

Unbelievable what the CRAs do. I am having my own little battle. I don't really give a fat rat's @$$ about the score right now. I just would like the stuff to be reported correctly. I have 15 separate entries from NCO. I contacted them and sent them a certified copy of my discharge as well as disputing with all three CRA's AND contacted the original creditor, the hospital where the care took place. Today, I checked my credit report with TC and my score has gone down on all three bureaus, several of my creditors have not budged AT ALL as far as their entries and Equifax and Experian can kiss my abundant @$$ pretty soon if things are not corrected. I don't need to be hit with a ton of bricks to know my credit report is ugly, but it would be a bit of heaven if they would just show no balance due. I am seriously considering contacting a law firm AFTER I get out of Illinois to get those things removed from my report and let them do the hard work. I am beat to the bone from all of this and I need to stop obsessing on it and focus on the positives that I have in my life...my kids, my job(s) and my future move. I think I will just let sleeping dogs lie for a few months and check my free credit report in July when I am eligible again and chalk this up to a bad experience and try to put it behind me. I really wish I had even a little bit of success or could say I am happy about any of this, but I am totally and completely depressed. Talk about wanting to disappear into the wallpaper...I am there.
Think I will have a nice dinner with my girls and thank God for having them.
Sux to be me.
