When I got my Capital One I received a letter after a couple weeks. The letter said that if I paid my monthly payment on time for the first 3 months, I would get a credit increase. Sure enough, after the thrid payment I got a letter saying I was being increased from 1000 to 1500. Not much, I know. But it feels really good to have a card with a decent limit.
I had my Orchard for 6 months before receiving an increase. I went from 300 to 500.
You can always request an increase. I've read that every 6 months is a good time to ask for an increase.

Some credit card companies only reward you with a credit limit increase if you keep a balance on thier card... they like to see that you are handling credit responsibly and keep using the card, rather than paying it off!BUSY running my own credit repair services! Also be VERY CAREFUL, because some of the credit cards we deal with after bankruptcy will CHARGE YOU every time they give you a credit increase, whether you ask for it or not........
Read the fine print - folks!!!Minny

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

That's about stupid. You'd think a person paying off their balances every month would show their responsible use of credit. I don't get these credit card companies sometimes.Originally posted by tinroofrustedSome credit card companies only reward you with a credit limit increase if you keep a balance on thier card... they like to see that you are handling credit responsibly and keep using the card, rather than paying it off!

Exactly. That's also why your credit score isn't as high as if you don't pay it off every month... you are carrying a balance, and that is favorable to them for you....
It IS silly, but it IS the truth, unfortunately!BUSY running my own credit repair services! Sorry I don't stop in so often any more!
