Monthly rent payments and utilities are normally not reported...
NOTE: I am not a lawyer...any advice I give is for entertainment purposes only. Legal questions should be directed to competent counsel. I am just a troll. Or a Toad.
None of our utilities, phone, or cell phone providers have ever reported. Not that I saw in our Credit Reports. Our current telephone company, landline, did a credit pull when we first got our phone with them, but that's it.
Now if you don't pay your bill on time, they'll report the negatives. But if you're a good customer who pays regularly, they don't report.
I am not an attorney. My comments are based on personal experience and research. Always consult an attorney in your area to address concerns related to your particular situation.
Another good thing about being poor is that when you are seventy your children will not have declared you legally insane in order to gain control of your estate. - Woody Allen...
Since late last year Verizon has been reporting the positives (no lates, I've been on top of this one at least!) to all three credit agencies; I was surprised to see them when I pulled this last group of reports for my attorney. I don't know if it is for my cell or land line; Verizon handles both and my attorney has the reports to make copies so I can't check account number today to see which is being reported.
