    Seeking financial aid like grants?

I was just thinking is it possible for people who wants to get a student loan but are unable to due to self's bad credit history, why won't you consider grants and scholarship?

Maybe it grants and scholarships are for whiz but I'm sure there are private companies who will sponsor right?

Time to be a bit snarky, but with writing like that, I don't see a grant or scholarship in your future

Also, student loans are not based on credit worthiness. Yes, there are many grants and scholarships available, but they are not exactly easy to get. Anyone who has filed BK is generally someone who is returning to school or some other non-traditional student; in those cases, grants and scholarships are rare.

      HHM. LOL.

Nkthen, there are things like pell grants for school. They even allow for certain expenses. They are designed for poor or people in between lay offs etc. They generally are sponsored through the school you wish to attend. Google them up or check into the school. 'Hub

My wife is going back to school full-time this fall.

We received federal guaranteed student loans (not credit based) AND a private loan from our credit union. The credit union said they would help us throughout the next six years of her school (Dr. of Pharmacology). She already has a BS, so that may have helped getting loans as they know she's serious. Plus she's 36 (don't tell her I told you that). Non-traditional students seem to have a few advantages.

This is why it never hurts to try ask.
