Hello, I intend on purchasing an item over 1,400within the next week or so. My question is If I file for bankruptcy in 3 months, will I have to pay for this item or will it be discharged? Or where do I stand with this issue if I do it?

the creditor will most likely want to reposses it - but it can't hurt to list it on your schedule. the general rule is charges less than 6 months cannot not be included in a BK 7 filing.

pre-filing purchases
I am assuming that you are charging the $1,400 item on a credit card. If so, that debt will be included with the balance of your unsecured debts and be paid the same percentage. In Chapter 13, it is extremely difficult (and almost never happens) for an unsecured creditor to object to a plan.
