I've heard that when you're trying to repair your credit after a BK, that if you're lenders keep trying to collect, you can sue them to the tune of $1000 per each collection attempt... is this true?

Whether you get $1000 per attempt, or $1000 as simply statutory damages for the basket of violations at the time you sue is up in the air.
In any event, since any suit against creditors in this regard tend to be based on federal law (FDCPA, BK Law, etc), you have to sue in federal court, so the lawsuit is not a
