    what to do

i'm approaching 3 years in my bk 13 case and my car has been paid, my taxes are about 500 from being paid. I assume based on my past 3 years of tax refund which i have never heard anything from the irs after calling them on multiple occassions. since i have about 15 more months remaining in the case and the aforementioned claims are almost satisfied what happens with the remaining payments. i do have about 30 in credit card debe filed in the case but it shows 0% to be paid on the trustee statements. what happens next. on top of that, i have been reestablishing my credit since my case and now have 4 credit cards with about 1000 total due. i have been told you cannot have credit cards but if thats the case why do i continue to receive pre approved offers. what should i do?

Your Trustee or your attorney should be sending you an update on your Plan every six months as to what has been paid in, what has been paid out to creditors. If you have not been receiving that information, contact your attorney to obtain a copy which will show how funds are being applied to your creditors and your trustee's fee, including the IRS. If you have further questions after reviewing that statement, contact your attorney who can get you up-to-date.

You are correct in that you are not supposed to apply for any credit during your Plan without Trustee permission. You are receiving pre-approved offers (not really pre-approved) because your name is on mailing lists to send you those offers. I certainly would not apply for anymore until after your Plan is discharged. Pre-approved offers are not really pre-approved because they still check your credit when they receive your application (read the fine print). It is not a good thing to be in active BK and have multiple hard credit inquiries on your credit reports.

You can opt out of credit offers by contacting each of the three credit reporting agencies to put a block on pre-approved offers by creditors on your account with each of them. Creditors scan the reports of people and send offers to people who fall in a certain category - in your situation, with BK on their reports.
