This is going to sound like a naive question, but do you send the trustee a cashier's check each month or is your payment deducted from your paycheck?

We have it taken from our checking via ACH. We sent cashier's checks until the ACH details were set up.
Each district will have it's preferences. Some accept personal checks, others don't.Filed 07/07, $120k unsecured debt
Plan: $400 (includes cram down) 60 months
Brilliant attorney, decent trustee, awesome plan

Our state requires payroll deductions from your employer to be sent to the Trustee. However, in our case, I pleaded with our attorney to see if the Trustee would allow us to send in the funds each month since I had just started a new job the day after our first hearing (just less than two months after filing). I was afraid it would have an effect on my new job and not look too good. We were given approval on our confirmed Plan to mail in the payment each month via a Cashier's Check to the Trustee. Our payment address was not in the state in which we reside and was a P.O. Box in Tennessee although we reside on the East Coast. So we had to ensure it was mailed in time to reach that location by the due date. We usually sent it Priority Mail which arrives in two days, sometimes three, days._________________________________________

You can find this out from either your attorney or if you can find your BK court's website (usually can find it by going to your State's web site and finding the link), the information may be listed on there as to various requirements by that court for your district. The website for our district BK court is chock full of all sorts of information for filers.Originally posted by grndmom53 View PostAnybody know how the payment is handled for Arizona, eastern part of the state? I am hoping we can pay it on our own.
Thanks_________________________________________

We pay ours through online banking. We set it up for every month based on my paydate and it works beautifully. The bank sends the check, it is always there every month and I can always track that they received it.Filed: October 1, 2007 341: December 10, 2007

Do what I did as I stated in my previous posting. Ask your attorney if the Trustee would accept a Cashier's or Certified check directly from you is your district requires payroll deduction. State you are concerned as to your job. It worked for us! Just ensure you get that payment out on time and are never late if you are allowed to do that. Hope things work out for you...let us know!Originally posted by Help! Thanks Flamingo. I asked my attorney this before filing and he said, "I don't see why you would need to have it deducted from payroll." You'd think he'd have a definitive answer like, "Sometimes it's required", or
"The trustee allows certified checks". My hunch is that this trustee requires payroll deduction and my attorney is patting me on the head to keep me from being upset. We will definitely express our concern if it comes to this.

I live in Arizona. Pima County. I send in a money order each month to a PO Box in Tennessee. The only problem I've had is they are so late in posting it on the 13data center that I get nervous that maybe it's lost. I mailed it in on the 29th of May and it's still not posted. Mine is due by the 15th each month.
