I was told by my attorney that before chapter 13 is filed, that I would need to spend my money on food, gas, bills and clothing. I'm just wondering if I can spend the rest of it on different things??
Any necessary living expenses is allowed. For instance, you can replace the tires on your car, just don't go buy a new car, or you can replace the carpet in your house, but you can't upgrade it to wood or tile. A stupid saying is: "Just don't turn the pig into a hog", if you keep that mindset on what you spend it on then you will be ok.
Good Luck
