    Real Estate Tax Question

We filed for a chapter 13 in June and have been confirmed. In our filing we included last years real estate taxes as a secured debt. In looking over our claims, the tax bureau hasn't filed a claim. I really want them paid..will they be?? What will happen if they don't file a claim??

    5 payments down/55 to go!

Seems to me that the bureau probably hasn't caught up to the fact that your taxes are past due. I think eventually they will. You can probably look it up online and see what your status is.

Also ask your trustee about this, because when the bureau finally get on the ball, they will file a lien against the property and ultimately force a sale (I think it takes many many years before that happens).
Was this amount factored in as part of your payment plan? If not, does it need to be, or can you pay them outside of BK plan?

I'd be proactive and check it out.

Well I sure don't want a lien filed! I have sent an email to our attorney, still awaiting an answer. They are listed in our plan as a Priority Debt and are factored in our repayment plan.

      Thanks for your reply!
