    ?? about CH 13

Still trying to adjust to this...have heard people talk about moving. Do you have to get permission to move to a new place??
Does the trustee tell you exactly what future info he wants such as tax returns, etc.\?

I guess it sounds like they pretty much own us for the next 3 years as far as making any financial decisions. Correct??

If I hadn't read this forum I wouldn't know half the stuff...what about the people who don't know about the forum and just to on making their own decisions without notifying anyone. How are you supposed to know all this if noone tells you?

And do you have to notify them if you change deductions?? If you're getting a refund to they take the entire thing or just part of it?

    Please enlighten me!!

    Thanks in advance!

It doesn't take much to research filing BK in your state; most state web sites have links to the BK court in your district which is usually chock full of information (ours is). You can call the Clerk of your BK court and ask for the web link also. As to your questions, yes you are correct that your entire financiali house is under the control of the trustee from the day of filing to the day of discharge. Certain things cannot be done without Trustee permission and increases in income or the receipt of other funds such as inheritances, lottery winnings, bonuses, etc. usually have to be reported; also, decreases in income need to be reported. Credit cannot be obtained without permission and you cannot sell or purchase a car, house or other major asset during the Plan years without permission.

Most trustees require you to turn in your tax returns, state and federal, within a certain time period after filing. However, this still appears to be district related and when one files, they are usually informed as to what is required for them.

Experiences you read on here may not apply to you as no Chapter 13 plan is made from the same cookie cutter or mold. Remember that as you search for information as to your specific circumstances.

You can move without their permission. I did. You just need to update your address with them.
