    3500 wow is that high, i paid $1800. 800 up from 1K in the plan.

      My attorney charged me $2,500.00, which looks cheap compared to what you had to pay. He got $500.00 up front and the rest is included in the chapter 13 payments.

        I guess it depends on the area.

        In my area most of the firms expect payment in full before they will file the 13. The firm I work for does (but, we aren't charging anywhere near 3 or 4k). It is the rare case that an atty around here will roll the fee into the plan (but they do exist...).
        Since hiding my head in the sand for the past few years didn't work...

          Mine was $5500 and it was very complicated issues.
          Started in Chapt 13 Switched to Chapt 7 Discharged 2009 Dec.........Filed New Chapt 13 in 2010 to deal with new surgery bill and stripped second mortgage! The story continues

            Mine is $3000

            $400 upfront (plus court/filing fees) & $2600 rolled into the plan. Fairly simple case, with property.

              I know it's high but it's well worth it when the attorney is willing to work with you on paying it back.
