I looked at my case on the National Data Site (I check at least once a week). Now that the mortgage companies are paid off the trustee is making small payments to the other claims. One payment was to Time Warner. The payment of $27.58 was sent on 12/24. According to the site, the payment was returned 1/07 and trustees $1.24 was also credited back to my account. Does this mean that Time Warner possibly wrote my account off? If so that would be great because it would knock more than a month off of my plan. Or is it more likely that they sold my debt to another company? Is that possible after they file a claim? Our plan is suppose to be done in October. I am going to go to school in the fall (after being out for 13 years) and would love it if we were done paying the plan off before then. Oh, we are at 100% payback.

I dont think that it will knock a month off your plan, they usually just send the money to another creditor. Either way, if they refused that payment, the account will be discharged at the completion of your plan. Also, I usually receive notices when one of my accounts has been sold to someone else.

That's what I wanted to know. My plan is already at 100% payback and is suppose to be over in October. So if Time Warner wrote it off and it gets sent to another creditor then I will be done in August. (i owed them $750 and my monthly payments are $650). Thanks.Originally posted by gingerbug View PostI dont think that it will knock a month off your plan, they usually just send the money to another creditor. could have been a glitch in the system somehow or another. I once saw a payment from one of the creditors returned, only to be sent out again in a week or so. I think in that particular case, they went from manual checks to auto deposit or something similar.
I also think Time warner can sell the debt to someone else who can then collect the rest of what they haven't been paid yet. I do know for a fact in my case that as soon as we filed, several of the cc's sold the debt to collection agencies. These agencies filed claims and several of them then sold the debt again during the 13, even though they were getting their money.
It would be sweet if you ended up finishing a month or 2 sooner than you are expecting.Chapter 13 filed -8/12/04
