to all,

doing the nolo means test just to see where I might be. anywho, can I claim expenses such as monthly gyms dues and adt home security and car insurance premiums and such? if so where do I place them in the means test thingy.

I believe that the gym would not be allowed under the means test. ADT security and your car insurance premiums most likely would be considered expenses that are included in the generous ownership allowances that they give you via the IRS standards. Although I might be incorrect, you might be able to list the home security in the telecommunications section, or, other necessary expenses. But, the trustee would not allow you to have the gym membership.

I heard you can have a gym membership if you get a doctor's note.

This would help if you are obese, have high cholesterol, diabetes, or other diseases in your family history.
