We filed approx a week ago. The creditors are still calling and my neighbor came over tonight with a name and phone number of a collector that called him. What do i do and when does this stop?

You have filed right? In any case, it is a breach of privacy that they would call a stranger to them about you. It is tantamount to Slander per se'. You can sue them for this type of slander. 'HubIf I knew it all, would I be here?? It can take two to three weeks for the bk notice to wind its way through complex company accounting divisions and down to collectors. Our lawyer sent a threatening letter to the only creditor who sent us a bill three weeks after filing. That's the last we heard from them
When you are contacted after filing, give the creditor or collector your case number. That typically stops all efforts to collect.
If you continue to get contacts AFTER you know they know your case number, that's when they are truly violating the stay and can be taken to court and sued *IF* you suffer damages as a result of the violation.I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
