If the creditors don't file a claim will the debt be discharged right away?

No. Your debt's are discharged when your chapter 13 is discharged.

The failure to file a claim only means the creditor will not get paid. However, if your chapter 13 gets dismissed (i.e. does not get discharged), the debt comes back to life, so-to-speak.
