Okay I`m starting my research to convert from a 13 to a 7, and want to use all the knowledge from people on this sight who have done it successfully. I`ve been in a 13 for 27 months, 80% payback. 98K of 120 all unsecured cc debt. I`ve paid 50k so far toward the debt, and 3200 to my lawyer, and now my income is going down substantially and wifes temp job is ending. We own a home with a second and car payment all made outside the plan. So far my lawyer seems reluctant to try and convert, even though something drastic will have to change soon, before mortgage and or second becomes late. Lawyer says ky median is 65k for a family of 4. We will be 25k over that, but with mortgage , second, and car payment, as well as standard exemptions we will break even, or slightly negative. For all of you who have done this, how much hassle was it between the lawyer and trustee? I don`t have any big boy toys, just a bunch of household furniture and stuff. Nothing within a few years old. Did they try and call that stuff assets and come after them? I haven`t told my lawyer I have talked to another lawyer who agrees with many on this site, that I should be able to convert, and he would be willing to take over the case if my lawyer won`t do it. At this point, sometimes you don`t know who to trust and whos blowing smoke up my %$#^%$. Thanks for all advice and input!!
