Im in Tennessee and had to have a surgery for a injury. Workers comp is wanting to settle with me. I'm in a chapter 13 payment plan now and will the cash settlement have to be turned in to the trustee.
Generally, worker's comp is exempt, BUT YOU WILL HAVE TO CHECK LOCALLY. The question is, when did the workers comp claim arise (before or after you filed your Chapter 13). If it arose before, i.e. you were injured before filing, you should have listed the possible claim in your schedules and claimed the exemption, if you were injured after you filed, and certainly after confirmation, you probably don't need to do anything.
In either event, you shouldn't have to turn it over to the trustee.
However, your question is one that needs to be answered by a local attorney.
