Why the delay between discharge and closing?

I haven't found a good explanation online yet of what they're doing.

Me either I was discharged on 8/29.

i had to call the clerk again (1st time so they could discharge me) to close it. She did.

So i have no idea why they're busy. I guess they have to manually check every now and then to update cases. You have to call and remind them.
