    Preferential Payment

Trustee has finalized a settlement with credit card company I made a pref. payment too without any objections from the creditors. (I filed chapter 7 under the old laws on my own, case discharged on 1/17/2006, trustee found one asset.....a pref. payment made to my wifes credit card of which Im an authorized user.............her credit is spotless) Wife is concerned this may affect her credit rating when the cc company makes the payment to the trustee...........we assume they will put the balance back on the card. Would it be ok to contact the trustee and make arrangements for my wife to pay him the settlement cost to eliminate the the cc comapny from having to make a transaction back to her. If we do nothing it may not affect her credit but we just don't know...............any ideas or suggestions ?

PF, you posted this same question on Nov 5 and got some excellent responses - http://www.bankruptcyforum.com/showthread.php?t=10817 . Just wondering why you posted it again? If you have a different related question, could you please post that instead? Thanks!

you so correct................didn't mean to go over the same thing again. I think after a year of dealing with the whole thing, the lousy advice I got from my lawyer and what that has caused, finially got to me.

Anyway thanks again..................next contact will be to the credit card company and see how they deal with the situation.

I appreciate everyone on this board, the support and advice.

The stress of bk can be overwhelming, especially when it goes on as long as yours has, PF - just wanted to be sure we didn't overlook something that you needed earlier so you reposted. We appreciate your contributions to the board too - hang in there!
