I'm in Austin Texas and unfortunately need a BK attorney. Can anyone recommend one? If you can't do it here, can you please send me a name using the "private message". I'd like to start talking to them and see where I stand but the couple I called seemed a little shady.

You can check Martindale to see if any peer reviewed attnys practice in your area.
Another place to check is your Court's home Web Page. You'll find a list of Standing or Panel Trustees. Generally, Trustees are practicing BK attnys who represent filers thru their private practices.
That's a couple ways to find attnys who are better than your average bear or know the system inside and out.Filed Ch 7 - 09/06

I am not an attorney. My comments are based on personal experience and research. Always consult an attorney in your area to address concerns related to your particular situation.
