    Bass Ass and Associates

Sometimes this stuff is just too funny.

I filed bankruptcy over a year ago and was discharged in early 2006.Filed pro-se under the old law.

Anyway I just got the standard crazy letter from Bass Ass wanting me to identify the collateral I have from a old credit card. Guess they bought the rights to the collateral from the original creditor.

They want to know if I intend to surrender the material voluntarily. So basically if I ignore them they will go away. If I contact them they will try to beat the bushes for whatever they can get.

There should be a time limit for all of this stuff. Guess I will just stay quiet, hide under the bushes and let them go after other folks who stand up and say take me.

Those folks really are a bunch of trash.

I've been seeing/reading a lot about Bass & Assoc. from another forum I belong to. They are trash.

Now, as for what was secured by the CC, if the creditor didn't contact you shortly after your discharge, then they probably have no interest in the item(s). We have some furniture that was secured with a CC and our atty. said if we didn't hear from the creditor within a month, then we would most likely keep it. Well here it is, almost a year after discharge and we never heard from them. IMO, creditors probably know that they will not be able to recover all of the cost/debt, so it's a waste to repossess the item(s).

    You're right, keep quiet.

No way….I am having major issues with these people. One lady keeps calling…..nice lady but doesn’t seam to understand that I can’t receive personal calls at work not to mention I don’t want to talk about my credit issues over the phone at work.

First they call my cell: number comes up on caller id as 000-000-0000. How am I supposed to call you back with a number like that? Then as soon as it goes to voice mail the office phone rings. I’ve told them I am filing but they don’t care.

Kaylee, the problem you have not filed yet so they can call.
However, they are 3rd party debt collectors and bound by the Fair Debt Collection Pratices Act.
Send a letter {CRRR} stating that they are no longer to contact you about this matter.
