If you're filing Chapter 7 Pro se then you probably know how important it is that the mailing list the clerk uses to notify your lending institutions be correct. If a creditor is not notified that you are filing for bankruptcy they will not be able to attend the creditor's meeting with the trustee, and then you potentially will not be eligible for that particular debt to be discharged. So, here's my question:
What's the best way to verify the address(es) that the court's copy of the voluntary petition should be sent? As a debtor, should I just call the customer service of my credit cards and ask what's the appropriate address to send the petition? I would think it's best to not inform any lending institution that you're filing for bankruptcy until AFTER you've filed your forms with the court.
If anyone has experience in this regard I'm sure more than one person would benefit from some answers or advice.
