    Anyone in Michigan?

    As I continue to read here, it sure sounds like things vary a lot from state to state. Just wondering if anyone in Michigan, who has filed a CH7 (new law) is past the 341 and/or discharged, and how things went. We are in Michigan, Western District. Although a little slower than others (filed April 7, 341 not sch until June 6), so far it seems to be going ok. Nothing has come up from the trustee so far.

    Also, where on PACER do I find info about the outcomes of cases heard by our judge or trustee?

    Anyone?

    I'm in Michigan, Cass County, but using a Detroit attorney (Legal Helpers, specifically). Haven't filed yet, but should be soon, just sent the hopefully last reviewed petition back to our attorney on Friday. I'm hoping we file this coming week or at the latest the following week.

    I don't have anything for you on the other questions though, sorry.

      I'm in MI, Eastern District. I filed an individual CH7 in March and my 341 was held on April 19. I'd say it went pretty well. I'm still waiting for discharge, but so far so good. *fingers crossed*

      I'm not sure about Pacer since I haven't bothered to check it yet. Perhaps someone else can help you. SinkingFast is really good about giving info concerning Pacer. Maybe you should look up some of her posts.

          Time4Cake, another Member from MI,.......... Went Ch 7 and everything went smoothly. Not one problem. Might look up Time's postings.

            I am from Michigan - filed in the Western District. Things went well for us in the end. We were over the median income (like 5k over) but passed the means test no problem. The bankruptcy trustee asked us for lots documentation on food, daycare, clothing. Then the US trustee filed a motion to extend on almost the last day of our 60 period but we never heard a word from the US trustee. We were discharged after 6 months (after filing) and closed after a couple more. We had the case that we have 401k loan repayments and the trustee let us keep that as a expense, as it sounds like that varies from trustee to trustee. Let me know if you have any further questions.

              Hi, twuoo... Sorry for the delayed response. I haven't been around for the past few days. But yes, I did file in Wayne county.

                I'm in Michigan. We filed Ch. 13 in May 2005 but ended up converting to Ch. 7 in February 2007. This was in the Eastern District. 341 hearing was March 22 and we got our discharge May 22. We didn't have any hurdles really. I'm still not sure what is happening with our house . . . haven't received notice of sale or anything.

                  I'm in Michigan, but have not filed yet, my attorney says after the beginning of July, I will be able to file. We have to wait, as we are just over the median income, but if you take out Decembers wages with my husbands bonus, and overtime, we will fall below so that I can file a chapter 7 instead of a chapter 13.

                  Just curious, do you have to go to Kalmazoo or Grand Rapids for your 341 meeting, or is that held in your local courthouse?
