My husband is filing for Chapter 7 and his attorney just called. He's being audited!! Talk about being scared! Does anyone know what he can expect to happen? Does this increase the chances of his case being dismissed? I'm scared they'll take our home or they'll deny his case. Any help would be awesome!

It's part of the New Law. One in every 250 cases get's tagged for Audit. So please know, you're Hubby isn't getting picked on because something looks fishy. It's totally random.
If your attny performed due diligence in gathering documentation prior to filing,......... 6 months of bank statements, CC's statements, and such,.......... Then your Hubby may never hear from the UST's Office at all.
If Hubby didn't turn in a lot of documentation prior to filing, you might wanna dig out as much old stuff as you possibly can. Just get prepped for whatever may be asked for.Filed Ch 7 - 09/06

Here's a link to a recent thread where Audits were discussed:
http://www.bankruptcyforum.com/showt...ighlight=audit
There's some info there about documentation you'll need to provide for the Audit processor. Chances are, it's stuff Hubby's attny already has on file with his attny.
I don't know if Audit notations and information will show on PACER or not. Once you check thru Hubby's case file, just make note of the "Date of Last Filing" at the time you look. Then, if the date changes, you'll know something new has posted. Otherwise, as long as nothing new happens, you don't have to spend any money checking up on Hubby's case.Filed Ch 7 - 09/06
